Modal Sosial Pedagangsayur Di Pasar Sri Gading Airmolek Kecamatan Pasir Penyu
This research was conducted on vegetable vendors at Pasar Sri Gading with the aim of examining their social capital and their contribution to the family economy. The research employed a qualitative method. The study involved six informants selected through purposive sampling. The theoretical framework used in this research is James Coleman's theory of social capital, which includes three main elements: trust, networks, and norms. The findings show that social capital is highly important for vegetable vendors at Pasar Sri Gading in supporting the smooth operation and sustainability of their businesses. Trust among vendors facilitates the process of selling vegetables and helps them gain easier access to supplies. Social networks help vendors facilitate and maintain their businesses. Social norms serve as a guideline for taking more structured and purposeful actions. Social capital plays an important role in supporting the sustainability of their businesses. The vendors' social networks—such as vegetable buyers, fellow vendors, and employers where they work as domestic helpers—serve as the main sources of customers for both their tailoring services and vegetable sales. This indicates that strong social relationships can expand economic opportunities and support various types of work carried out by the vendors.
