Distribusi Vertikal Zooplankton Di Perairan Danau Baru Desa Mentulik Kecamatan Kampar Kiri Hilir Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau

The research was conducted from February to March 2008 at Baru Lake in Mentulik Village, Kampar Kiri Hilir Sub-regency, Kampar, Riau Province. This research aims to understand the distribution of the zooplankton vertically. Methods used in this research is a case-study method. Zooplankton sample were collected from 4 stations. It were taken by using a water pump and then sieved by a plankton net no. 25.
Fifth classes of zooplankton were found and they were consist of Sarcodina (2 species), Rotifera (4 species), Cladocera (3 Species), Copepoda (2 species) and Custacea (1 species). Based of the depth of the sampling areas, it is known that there are 9 genus of zooplankton inhabit the surface of the water, 11 genus inhabit Secchi depth and 11 genus inhabit the 2 Secchi depth. The average of zooplankton abundance was around 70 – 265 ind/l, diversity index (H’) around 2,128 – 3,258; and domination index (C’) around 0,117 – 0,265. Result shown that general water quality parameters are as a follow : temperature 27 – 30 0C, transparancy 40,5 – 42,3 cm, turbidity 14,1 – 18,1 NTU, depth 1,4 – 5,5 m, suspended solid 13,3 – 15,5 ppm, pH 6,8 – 7,0 ; disolved O2 6,5 – 6,8 ppm, and free CO2 9,4 – 9,8 ppm.
