AND ANALYSIS OF WATER POOL TREATMENT
IN PUBLIC SWIMMING POOLS
In PEKANBARU

Water is an essential thing in human’s life especially for recreation. One of the recreation
which need much of water is swimming. Swimming in public swimming pools is defined as comunal
bathing. The disease transmission in swimming pool can be caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa
contamination in water pools. This bacteria can cause otitis externa (swimmer ear), foliculitis and
others. The aim of this research was to identify the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in public
swimming pool and know to how the management of water pool treatment . This research is
metodically descriptive design. This research found that, the water of public swimming pool
examined is contaminated by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the management of water pool treatment
are classified as unideal category. As the conclusion 4 pools (66,7%) of 6 pools examined was
contaminated by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and and the water pool treatment management of 6 pools
(100%) are classified as unideal category.
