Pengukuran Kapasitansi Bola Logam Menggunakan Prinsip Elektrostatik
The research about capacitance of metal sphere has been done. Metal spheres used in this research are made from Alumunium with three various diameters i.e. 20, 40 and 120 mm. The measurement was done ten times using high-voltage power supply as the charge source with voltage variation from 0,5 kV to 5 kV with interval of 0,5 kV. This eksperiment is based on Phywe method. Then, the average capacitances measured are compared with the theoretical values. The research data showed a significant difference to the theoretical value. The difference occurs because there is a lot static charges around the measurement location, which saturate the parallel capacitor used which should be given in 10 nF. Because of that saturation condition, the capacitor was replaced by 4,7 μF capacitor. This condition causes the result of measurement and calculation differ in order of 10-3. The measurement result shows that the capacitance of metal spheres increase as the their diameters increase.
