This study is to identify factors that affect the level of social carrying capacity of the community and to study their impact on society Pedamaran bridge in the vicinity of Bridge Construction in Kepenghuluan Suak Air Hitam Kecamatan Pekaitan Rokan Hilir District of Riau Province.
In this study conducted a descriptive analysis. This study suggests the following : (A). Socio economic and cultural conditions of the people in the study area showed a relatively low inclination.(B). People in Kepenghulan Suak Air Hitam basically have a positive response to Pedamaran bridge construction, but the positive response appears to be associated with the expectations of people who think that the presence Pedamaran Bridge will bring positive economic implications of local communities.(C). Economic factors in the study area is very influential on the appearance of a positive perception of the public of the existence Pedamaran Bridge.
If the existence of the bridge Pedamaran never care about social carrying capacity of the local community, then any strategy applied ride the participative strategy, sustainability or people development centers and the like, can be ascertained the existence of the project can not be fully utilized by the local population. Based on the above conclusions, we need a recommendation in the form of empowerment to improve the carrying capacity of the social community.
In general, the program was implemented in response to a negative impact of bridge construction forecasts Pedamaran of aspects contained both in the community and economic components. The proposed program has been put in the form of proposals increase the carrying capacity of the social activities of the community, among others: a program to improve health, education, security and public order, empowering local organizations, environmental improvement, improvement of skills and expertise, as well as the empowerment of the local economy.
