Pengaruh Budaya Sekolah dan Pengelolaan Stres Terhadap komitmen Guru di SMP Negeri Se-Kecamatan Tualang Kabupaten Siak
This study aimed to identify (1) the effect of school culture on stress management, (2) the effect of school culture and stress management on the teachers’ commitment, (3) the effect of school culture on the teachers’ commitment, and (4) the effect of stress management on the teachers’ commitment. The quantitative method was used in this study consisting of endogenous and exogenous variables. The population of the study was all public school teachers of Junior High Schools in Tualang Sub-district totalling 141 teachers. Of this number, 87 teachers were taken as the sample. The data was collected using a set of questionnaire while the validity and reliability tests were conducted to ensure that the instrument was valid and reliable to carry out the research. To analyze the data, normality test, linearity test and path analysis technique were used for the test of pre-requirement analysis.
The results of the study showed that (1) there was a positive and significant effect of school culture directly on stress management with the contribution of 33,20%, (2) there was a positive and significant effect of school culture and stress management directly on the teachers’ commitment at SMP Tualang Sub-district, Siak District with the contribution of 31,60%, (3) there was a positive and significant effect of school culture on the teachers’ commitment at SMP Tualang Sub-district, Siak District with the direct contribution of 9% and indirect contribution of 0,99%, and (4) there was a positive and significant effect of stress management directly on the teachers’ commitment at SMP Tualang Sub-district, Siak District with the contribution of 11,08%. In summary, the greater the effect of school culture on stress management, the higher the commitment of Junior High School teachers in Tualang Sub-district would be affected. So, good school culture and stress management are required in order to optimize the teachers’ commitment.
