Gambaran Kasus Malaria Di Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau Periode Januari 2012 – Desember 2015
Malaria is an infectious disease which nowadays remains the world’s health problem, especially in tropical and subtropical countries. Malaria can attack all the age and gender groups with the morbidity and mortality rates are high enough so that malaria gives not only a heavy health burden, but also a social and economic burden, included in Indonesia. Malaria can be found throughout the province in Indonesia, one of them in the Kampar District of Riau Province. The purpose of this study was to know the distribution of malaria cases based on the age of groups, gender, clinical symptoms, laboratory examination and medical treatment in Kampar District of Riau Province for the January 2012 – December 2015 period. The method was a descriptive retrospective study using medical records of patients diagnosed with malaria. The location was determined by the highest cases of malaria in all Public Health Centers that located in Kampar District during 2012-2014, they were Kampar Kiri and Siak Hulu II Public Health Center. The result showed that out of 113 malaria cases, there were 80 cases that found in Kampar Kiri Public Health Center. The distribution of malaria cases based on the age of groups showed that the most frequency was 25-34 years old (28,3%), the most gender was male (66,4%), the most clinical symptom was fever (92,3%), the most type of paracite based on the microscopic examination was Plasmodium falciparum (88,5%), and the most medical treatment given to the malaria patients was Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy/ACT (74,3%).
