Respon Lanjut Usia Terhadap Program Asistensi Sosial Lanjut Usia Terlantar (ASLUT) Pada Dinas Sosial Kabupaten Bengkalis

This study examines the issue of how the characteristics of the elderly who receive Elderly Social Assistance, How the implementation of that program and what are the responses of the elderly to the implementation of this program. The subjects of this study were elderly people in Bengkalis who were helped by Elderly Social Assistance with the number of 60 people, but to get the response from this implementation, the researcher only set the receivers who get the assistance continuously from 2012 to 2015. It was about 21 people. This research was using quantitative descriptive method. The aims of this study were getting an overview of the characteristics of the elderly, the implementation of the program and the response of society about Elderly Social Assistance implementation of the elderly. The results showed that the general characteristics of the elderly in Bengkalis District who are the receiver are appropriate with the criteria that are set by the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The criteria are elderly people are over 60 years, chronic pain, lives depend on others, bedridden and unable to perform daily activities, do not have a remains income, poor and neglected. The implementation of Elderly Social Assistance in Bengkalis is started by processing the data collection, selecting and recapitulating the recipients data, proposing the candidates and the candidate companion to the province, providing guidance for candidate companion, supervising, monitoring and evaluating, replacing the recipients if it is needed, making activities report, taking and submitting Elderly Social Assistance card, dealing the complaints from society. All of these activities have been carried out well based on the duties and responsibilities of program organizer of Elderly Social Assistance in Bengkalis regency. Generally, the responses of elderly recipients of Elderly Social Assistance program are good and positive. The response to the implementation of Elderly Social Assistance ranging from socialization, data collection, provision, disbursement of funds and assistance is generally satisfied, with the level of achievement above 80%. The results of this study revealed a sense of satisfaction and joy for them. Due to the presence of Elderly Social Assistance program can assist them in fulfill their needs every day.
