Implementasi Model Learning Cycle 5e Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Fisika Pada Materi Fluida Statis Di Kelas X SMAN Plus Propinsi Riau
The purpose of this study was to determine the increase of students' understanding of physics concepts through 5E learning cycle model implementation in a static fluid material in class X of SMAN Plus Riau Province. The expected benefit of the research is as a basis to determine the students' increased understanding of physics concepts. This study was conducted in SMAN Plus Riau Province in February 2015 until June 2015 in the class X MS 6 as an experimental class and the class X MS 1 as the control class, each of which amounted to 25 students. This study design is a Non-Equevalent Control Group Design. The results were obtained information that the completeness indicators of conceptual understanding of physics, namely the indicators translation, interpretation, and extrapolation of students in the experimental class are higher than the control class. Besides the normalized gain indicator of translation, interpretation, and extrapolation of the experimental class was in a high category while normalized indicators translation gain in the control class was in a middle category. Indicator interpretation and extrapolation in the control class are in low categories. Furthermore from this reseach, it was obtained that the height of increase of physics conceptual understanding of the students in the experimental class is higher than in the control class. So it can be concluded that the 5E learning cycle model implementation can enhance students' understanding of physics concepts in class X SMA Plus Riau province on static fluid material.
