Pemanfaatan Limbah Styrofoam Sebagai Material Pengganti Sebagian Pasir Pada Pembuatan Batako
One effort to reduce the waste Styrofoam is to utilize as a building material that is brick because Styrofoam has a light density that can produce light brick. The purpose of this research is to construct bricks from Styrofoam waste as a substitute of sand, to know the effect of adding styrofoam weight varies to the weight of brick, compressive strength, water absorption in brick and to know the superiority of styrofoam brick. The variation of mixed ratio between (cement: sand: Styrofoam) is (1: 5: 0), (1: 3: 2), (1: 2: 3), and (1: 0: 5). From the result of the research, it can be seen that the weight of the best styrofoam brick is a variation of 1 cement: 3 sand: 2 styrofoam which has a compressive strength of 3.35 Mpa and 6.74% water absorption that meets SNI-3-0349-1989 IV quality with compressive strength An average of 20 Mpa and a water absorption that meets SNI-15-2094-2000 with maximum water absorption is 20%.
