Sentra Kerajinan Tenun Di Pekanbaru Dengan Pendekatan Tampilan Visual Arsitektur Melayu
Indonesian society are familiar with the art, culture and crafts in accordance with the habits, skills and needs. Tenun songket craft is one of the traditional craft in Riau’s Malay community, which in ancient times were often made by nobles children and only used by the kingdom in a limited environment. In the development of more modern times, songket has been used by the public and became one of the craft that many tourists hunted as a souvenir of Riau Province. Riau needs for a place of activity centers to preserve the traditional craft of tenun songket from extinction and provide information to the public to know and study the decorative motifs in tenun songket craft. Sentra is a small unit area that has a certain characteristic in which there are activities of the production process of a business type that produces a product. Craft is the result of human activity and creativity in the form of art and culture that has developed since long time ago. In designing the tenun craft centers, the design adopted the Visual Appearance Architecture Traditional Malay Rumah Kajang and Settlement Patterns The Malays Talang Mamak. And the concept is applied "Home As Industry Media ", adapted to the functions contained in the form of educational activities, industry, marketing and recreation.
