Efek Variasi Tekanan Hydraulic Press Pada Pencetakan Pelet Karbon Aktif Tkks Terhadap Penyerapan Logam Berat Fe Di Sungai Kuantan
Research on the use of activated carbon from oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) to absorp heavy metals Fe in wastewater streams with combination activation and carbonization experimen method have been done. Activated carbon was made in the form of pellets. Sample preparation consisted of drying, pre-carbonization, refining, chemical activation using KOH 0.3 M and procesed. All pellet samples were carbonized at a temperature of 8000C for 7 hours and 50 minutes. Atomic absorption spectrometer testing showed that the samples with 7 tons of pressure has produced the highest percentage of absorption of 40.83%. Characterization of the samples was done by Scanning Electro Miscroscopies (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX). Characterization SEM was image showed that white particles of Fe grew on the samples. XRD analysis results showed XRD peaks appeared at 2θ = 44.6698° Fe (021); 47.4375° (021); 64.7044° (131); and 82.2883° (212) for pressure 7 tons, 43.6386° (021); 47.2044° (021); and 82.36310 (212) for pressure 9 tons and 43.0565° (021); 47.3955° (021); and 64.5595° (131) for a pressure of 10 tons. EDX analysis of the samples showed an increase in the elements before absorption was Fe 0.76% by weight, 0.17% by atomic and after adsorption was 1.22% by weight and 0.28% by atomic and showed EDX analysis of the point was also an increase in Fe element before absorption was 0. 32% by weight and 0.07% by atomic and 3.66% by weight and 0.90 atom% by atomic after absorption. Best pressure molding pellets as an absorber of heavy metals Fe was 7 tons.
