Potensi Arang Bambu Betung (Dendrocalamusasper) Sebagai Adsorben Kation Tembaga (Ii) Dan Anion Sulfat
ABSTRACT
Bamboo betung (Dendrocalamus asper) is one of the plant types found in Buruk
Bakul village where located in Bukit Batu Bengkalis. The aim of this study was to
analyze of the potential of charcoal from bamboo betung as adsorben. In this
research, charcoal was made by doing carbonization of bamboo betung at 500oC
for an hour and then was re-carbonize for 60 and 30 minutes. The results indicated
that charcoal from bamboo betung for 60 minutes contain 0.70% of water, 5.69%
of ash and 80.18 m2/g surface area. Then the charcoal from 60 minutes was
adsorbed by using adsorption process (batch system). The final results indicated
that all parameters of pH, temperature, color, DHL, TSS, TDS, copper and
sulphate were below the standard allowed, it is refer to PERMENKES
No.416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990. The requirements of water quality with the
percentage of absorption were 100% of Cu (II) 100% and 54,60% Sulphate.
