Pengembangan Kelompok Usaha Batik ‘Rumah Kreatif Cempaka’ Oleh Pt. Chevron Pasifik Indonesia
Batik is widely known in Indonesia that is often associated with craft and is also not infrequently included in the category of clothing industry. Batik craft 'Rumah Kreatif Cempaka' is a business group of batik craftsmen built PT.Chevron Pacific Indonesia (PT CPI). Commitment of PT. CPI in encouraging the economic empowerment of society in the work area of the company, one of them is by facilitating batik business group of community of Rumbai Pesisir city of Pekanbaru in year 2013. The purpose of this research is to know how development of batik business group by PT.CPI, and constraint faced by group Batik business However, in the development of batik business group 'Creative House Cempaka' in the development of his business.
The method used in this study was conducted by qualitative approach with descriptive method, with data collection techniques including observation, interview, documentation study related to research objectives. The instrument in this study refers to the theory that Widjaja (2003) discusses, empowering a community group to support the growing potential of the community in running the business through increased roles, productivity and efficiency by improving the four accesses namely access to resources, access to technology, To the market, access to financing sources.
The results showed, the development of business groups 'Creative House Cempaka' has not run optimally. Access to the resources of craftsmen in the development of batik 'Rumah Kreatif Cempaka' decreased in number, although the quality of artisans increased after training and mentoring. Financing in the production process still depends on the source of funds through CSR program PT. Chevron Pacific, and the sale of batik handicraft is very limited. Access to the market is still limited to whorkshop at the 'Rumah Kreatif Cempaka' outlet, with access to simple marketing information technology (word of mouth) has not utilized technological developments and support from related agencies.
