Perbandingan Metode Sulfat (Kraft) Dan Metode Acetosolv Dalam Pembuatan Pulp Berbahan Baku Pelepah Nipah (Nypa Fruticans Wurmb)
SUMMARY
Pulp is derived from the separation of cellulose fibers with lignin from fibrous material both wood and non-wood through specific step of processing. the raw material that use is nipah bark. Two types of there were Acetosolv method using of CH3COOH and Craft method using NaOH and Na2S. The purpose of this research was to know comparison of pulp yield from nipah bark, its effects from various concentration, cooking time, and the equality of the obtained pulp sheet were observed in this study. The result of this research showed that the optimum value of the pulp making process from nipah bark using Acetosolv method was obtained at 75% concentration and cooking time in 90 minutes with pulp yield, cellulose, lignin, and index tensile were 65.63%, 79.64%, 10.36% and 0 Nm/g² respectively, while using Craft method was obtained at 5% NaOH concentration and cooking time in 90 minutes with these parameters resulted in 66.64%, 80.40%, 8,55% and 38.35 Nm/g² respectively. From the result above, using Craft method were known in line to SNI Minimum Standard 6107:2009 in which 30.5 Nm/g². Both of Acetosolv and Craft method had given different yields of pulp, cellulose, lignin in every variation. Thus, Craft method were proved to be the best method rather than Acetosolv method.
