Solar energy is the unlimited energy of utilization on earth, in addition to easy to obtain also does not cause pollution. Remember in the present time, population growth is increasing, the need for energy will increase, while natural resources are running low. One utilization of solar radiation energy that is commonly used is as a solar dryer. A cabinet type solar drying system is a suitable drying system used to dry agricultural produce such as coffee beans, bananas, and cassava. A cabinet type solar dryer is a tool that relies on the supply of all its energy sources from the sun, because the region of Indonesia has considerable solar energy potential as a tropical country. In this study, the tool used will be added heat storage. The purpose of adding this heat storage is to help improve dryer efficiency and drying efficiency. As for the material used for this heat storage is a split stone or pebbles. In this tool is also used multilevel shelf as a place to lay the test material in the form of milk bananas. The use of multilevel shelves in direct heating type solar dryers aims to maximize the utilization of hot air and maximize the use of drying chamber, so that the dryer becomes more compact and efficient in the reception of hot air. The utilization of hot air on shelves is more evenly distributed and touches the overall ingredients and products to be dried.
