Obat pahit derived from Lingga Malay community is a traditional medicine that is believed by the local people as body fitness keeper (immunomodulators and antioxidants). This study is aimed to investigate the effectiveness of obat pahit Malay Lingga, Riau Archipelago, on renal histological structure of white male rats (Rattus norvegicus). This study was an experimental study with a randomized block design consisting of 15 treatment and 3 replications. The treatment group consisted of 3 rats as a control (Stimuno, distilled water, and CMC Na 1%) and three kinds of obat pahit (Kalan, SP4, Linau) with 4 different doses. The samples of kidney white rats were prepared for histology perposes using parafin method and Hematoxylin-Eosin staining. The results of this study showed that the three kinds of obat pahit with 4 different doses on the kidney white rats were found the expansion of glomerular cells on kidney tissue, but the damage occured in a merely percentage and its limits is less than 25%.
