Gambaran Pengetahuan Perawat tentang Patient Safety di Eka Hospital Pekanbaru
Abstract
Patient safety is a patient nurture including identification, risk management, incident reporting and analysis, ability to follow up incidents as well as minimizing risks and preventing injuries. The study aimed to find out the description of nurses’ knowledge about patient safety at Eka Hospital Pekanbaru. The study used quantitative approach with descriptive method. There were 67 nurses taken as the samples obtained by applying total sampling technique. Validity and reliability tested questionnaire was utilized to collect the data. The results of the study showed that respondents who have good knowledge were on the indicator of identification accuracy of patients which were 64 respondents (95.5%), on the indicator of effective communication improvement which were 54 respondents (80.6%), on the indicators of proper location certainty, proper procedures, proper surgery patient which were 57 respondents (85.10.0) and on the indicator of infection risk reduction related to health services which were 63 respondents (94%), and indicators of fall risk reduction which were 40 respondents (59.7%). While, respondents who have sufficient knowledge were on the indicator of watchful drug safety 34 respondents (50.7%). The recommendation in this study is hospital policy in carrying out activity in the form of patient safety training, especially the improvement of drug security that needed to be watchful.
