Isolasi Dan Uji Toksisitas Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Dari Ekstrak Kulit Batang Pulai Basung (Alstonia spatulata Bl )

SUMMARY
Alstonia spatulata (pulai basung) is a plant of the Apocynaceae family that grows in the scrub area. This study aimed to isolate secondary metabolite compounds contained in the bark of this plant and to determine the toxicicity level of n-hexane, methanol and dichloromethane extracts and compound isolated. Phytochemical analysis showed that A. spatulata contains terpenoids and alkaloids. The isolation technique was performed by using maceration extraction method and separation with flash chromatography. The white crystal was obtained from dichloromethane extract on vial 8-24. Based on the IR and NMR spectroscopy data, it was elucidated as with β-amyrin acetate compound. The toxicity level analysis of the extracts and compound isolated showed non-toxic with LC50 >1000 ppm.
