Isolasi Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Dan Uji Aktivitas Antioksidan Ekstrak n-Heksana Daun Tumbuhan Solanum ferox L
ABSTRACT
Indonesia is one of the largest countries with tropical forests in the world. One of the plants that grows wild in tropical regions is Solanum ferox, which is usually called an eggplant. This plant is often used as a food ingredient and as a traditional medicine. This study aims to isolated secondary metabolites from S. ferox leaf n-hexane extract and to test their antioxidant activity. Secondary metabolite compounds produced in the leaves of this plant are phenolic and steroid. Extraction of secondary metabolites of S. ferox leaves used in this study maceration method using n-hexane solvent. Separated of the extract was carried out using vacuum liquid chromatography obtained 6 fraction. The F3 fraction was again separated by column chromatography. The F3.5 combined fraction produces white needle HSF crystals with a melting point of 135-136°C. Characterization of HSF compounds with FT-IR showed the presence of functional groups O-H, aliphatic C-H and C=C alkene. The antioxidant activity test of n-hexane extract of S. ferox leaves is not antioxidative because it has IC50 > 1000 μg / ml. The compound obtained is suspected to be steroid group.
