Kualitas Dan Aktivitas Antibakteri Sabun Transparan Dengan Penambahan Ekstrak Etanol Batang Pepaya
This research aimed to obtain the addition of papaya stem extract and to observe the activity of antibacterial against E. coli and S. aureus and its quality in making transparent soap. This research was conducted with four treatments and four replications. The treatment in this research was the addition of papaya stem extracts of 10 ml, 15 ml, 20 ml and 25 ml. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with duncan new multiple range test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The result of ANOVA showed that the addition of papaya stem extract significantly affected moisture content, fatty acids, free fatty acids/free alkali, acidity, foam stability, antibacterial activity test, and iritation test. Based on the result of this research, the best treatment was transparent soap with the addition of 20 ml papaya stem extract which had moisture content of 12.82%, fatty acids of 27.00%, free fatty acids of 1.73%, acidity of 11.06, foam stability of 90.99 mm, antibacterial activity inhibition test against S. aureus 8.57 mm while against E. coli 10.33 mm and score of iritation test against erythema was 0.05.
