Struktur Komunitas Perifiton Epilitic Dan Kualitas Perairan Sungai Kampar Desa Pulau Terap Kecamatan Kuok Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau
Ecologically, periphyton community structure can be used to identify water quality of a river. To understand the condition of water quality of the Kampar River based on periphyton community, a research was conducted from July 2017. There were five (5) sampling points, in the upstream (S1), around the floating cages (S2), in the area after the cage (S3 and S4) and in the downstream (S5). Water samples were taken 3 times, once/ week. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, brightness, depths, turbidity, current speed, total dissolved solid, total suspended solid, pH, DO, BOD5, nitrate, phosphate and types of periphyton present. Results shown that there were 4 classes of periphyton present, namely Cyanophyceae (6 species), Chlorophyceae (9 species), Bacillarophyceae (15 species)and Euglenophyceae (2 species). Water quality parameters were as follows : temperature 30-310C, brightness 0.34-0.72 m, turbidity 4.07-5.92 FTU, current speed 0.37-0.51 m/s, TDS 42.33-69.66 mg/L, TSS 7.33-9.00 mg/L, pH 5, dissolved oxygen 4.4-5.5mg/L, BOD5 2.47-3.00 mg/L, nitrate 0.060-0.128mg/L and phosphate 0.115-0.203 mg/L. The value ofthe WQI-NSF index was 52.85-54.88, indicates that the river is onmoderatecondition.Keywords : Terap Island, Water Quality, WQI-NSF Index, Periphyton
