Keanekaragaman Tiga Varietas Macang (Mangifera foetida L.) Berdasarkan Kandungan Metabolitnya Menggunakan Analisis Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS)
Macang (Mangifera foetida L.) is known as a fruit with a low consumptive value due to its sour taste, fiber and sap, therefore this plant is not commonly cultivated. This phenomena may decrease the occurrence of macang in nature. Three varieties of macang analyzed in this study were Limus, Batu and Manis. The purpose of this study was to identify the diversity of the varieties based on their metabolite content using LC-MS analysis. Sampling was carried out use survey method at Remban and Lesung Batu, Kecamatan Rawas Ulu, Kabupaten Musi Rawas Utara, South Sumatra Province. Samples were analyzed using the LC-MS system. The chromatogram produced was analyzed using the MassLynx program to obtain the compounds contained in the sample. Determination of names of compounds based on Chemspider database and compound classes based on PubChem. Grouping the three varieties is done using the NTSYSpc2.02 program. The number of metabolite compounds that become characteristic of three macang varieties in this study was 667 compounds. The results showed that the three varieties were divided into two groups with similarity coefficient value range from 35% to 38%. Group I consisted of Limus and Batu varieties and group II consisted of Manis variety. The metabolites found in this study are expected to be useful in phytopharmaca and can support macang conservation efforts that rarely found.
