Efektifitas Terapi Rendam Kaki Dengan Natrium Klorida Dan Aromaterapi (Reki-Na) Terhadap Tingkat Sensitivitas Kaki Penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2
Diabetes mellitus has neuropathic complications that cause loss of foot sensitivity, for that we need therapy and prevention of neuropathic symptoms by doing foot care, among foot treatments that are foot bathing of therapy with sodium chloride and aromatherapy (Reki-Na). The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of foot soak with Sodium chloride and aroma therapy (Reki-Na) on sensititivity level of patients diabetes mellitus type 2. This study used a quasy-experimental. Samples were 34 respondent taken by purposive sampling techniques and divided into 2 groups consisting of 17 respondent experimental group given (Reki-Na), 3 consecutive days and 17 respondent control group without Reki-Na therapy. This research instrument used observation and monofilament. The data were then analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Wilcoxon and Man Whitney test. Statistical result showed that Reki-Na is effectived for increasing the sensitivity of the right and left legs in the experimental group p value = 0,023 and 0,024 < (α = 0,05). Whereas in the control group no differences on the right and left foot were found with the same p value 1,000 > (α=0,05). Conclusion Reki-Na was effectived on sensitivity level of patients diabetes mellitus type 2 in the working area of the Rejosari Pekanbaru Health Center. The results were expected to be one of the nursing interventions for patients with diabetes mellitus.
