Perlindungan Hukum Terhadap Konsumen Akibat Dari Mengkonsumsi Daging Dari Rumah Pemotongan Hewan (Rph) Ternak Yang Tidak Memiliki Sertifikasi Halal Di Kota Payakumbuh
The legal protection against Muslim consumers is still weak. This is based of the weakness of the consumer's awareness of their right. This research is titled “Legal Protection against Consumers as a result of consuming meat from slaughterhouses (RPH) livestock that do not have halal certificate”.
Researchers found the presence of consumer rights and business obligations that are not fulfilled as prescribed in the law number 8 years 1999 on consumer protection and Law No. 33 years 2014 on product Assurance Halal. The purpose of this research is to know how the legal protection of consumers who consume meat from animal slaughterhouses (RPH) who do not have a certificate ignored by the business operators in this case the house slaughtering animals and traders who Do not provide information relating to meat in circulation in the market and know how they can feed the slaughter of livestock in animal slaughterhouses (RPH) in the city of Payakumbuh.
This research is sociological which researchers identify the real right and how effective in the community environment. The population and the samples are taken from all parties with respect to the issues being investigated. The data sources used are primary and secondary data sources that support the discussions that have been examined.
The results of this study have shown that the lack of consumer knowledge of the right to provide consumer protection is still not functioning properly. The high position of the business operators is negligent in fulfilling their obligations towards the consumer. The results of this study are expected to give an idea in determining the policy in the processing of Halal food products, especially farm animals.
