Abstract

Unregistered marriages in Indonesia call as Nikah Siri it’s valid in Islam Religion because it has fulfilled the validity with the existence of ijab qabul, brides and grooms and two witnesses. This marriage was officially not recorded because it was only legally religious and this phenomenon had already penetrated the world of lectures, especially those in Pekanbaru City.
The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The technique of collecting data uses observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants used were four people selected using the snowball technique.
The results showed that while on the front stage, the front stage told about the lives of the informants when they did not yet have the status of a siri wife. At the time the student was not yet a status as their siri wife, he looked like an ordinary student who used headscarves and syar'i clothing because of demands from the campus. Physically, the informants have a thin physique and a less attractive appearance because only makeup is sober and not too stylish, they are active in various campus activities both in the arts, spiritual and lectures to hide their true identities.
At the time the student had a status as a siri wife in the back stage, they were sexy and beautiful because of the demands of the husband. Apart from the demands, differences in appearance and style can be seen where they look more fashionable, use makeup that is rather excessive than usual and more flirtatious. This difference can also be seen from their activities in the campus which sometimes have problems repeating the subject several times. The reason they want to be siri's wife is because they fulfill their daily and life needs, avoid zina and help families who don't have children to get children.
