ABSTRACT


This study aims to determine the in crease in house hold income of fishermen through participation in a fisherman's wife husband petrified for a living, so the wifecan contribute to house hold and family responsibiliti es can reduce the burden of fishermen. The method used in this research is the method of survey sampling purposive sampling as many as 16 wives of fishermen.
The study shows that the fisherman's wife has a significant role in supporting the domestic economy. Wife's role in helping make a living husband wife doing a double role in the household. Fisherman's wife contribute to household incomes do with work / activities that include, namely; as rubber tappers, processing of fishery products, fishmonger, day traders and as a seamstress. The largest contribution of five fishermen isri work performed is as rubber tappers, and it can be concluded that alternative activities can be developed, namely by MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises).
