Penerapan Teknik Cerita Berantai Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara Siswa Kelas Iii Sdn 136 Pekanbaru
This research was conducted to improve the third grade students' speaking skills at SDN 136 Pekanbaru. This is done because of the low level of students' skills in speaking, which is based on data on the average student score of 64.03. Therefore, researchers applied chain story techniques to improve the speaking skills of third grade students at SDN 136 Pekanbaru. Chain story technique is one of the techniques in speaking teaching that tells a story to the first student, then the student first tells the second student, and so on then the story is retold again to the first student. The application of this technique is intended to improve students' speaking skills by using appropriate pronunciation, loud voice, using coherent sentences, and delivered smoothly. This type of research is classroom action research with 27 third grade students as research subjects, 17 girls and 10 males. The study was conducted in October. Research data and instruments are obtained through performance tests. After the chain story technique was applied, teacher activity increased in the first cycle with a percentage of 60% to 65%. Then in the second cycle with a percentage of 70% to 85%. Student activities also increased. In cycle I the percentage was 60% to 70%. Then in cycle II the percentage of 75% becomes 85%. Increased speaking skills of third grade students of SDN 136 Pekanbaru, namely from an average value of 66.04 in the first cycle to 77.46 in the second cycle. So that the percentage increase of 6.04% in the first cycle and 20.97% in the second cycle. Thus it can be concluded that the application of chain story techniques can improve the speaking skills of third grade students of SDN 136 Pekanbaru.
