Pendidikan Anak Pada Masyarakat Nelayan Di Kepenghuluan Sinaboi Di Kabupaten Rokan Hilir
This study is trying to find an explanation: 1. How is the education of children in fishing communities in the village of Sinaboi ?, 2. How is the accessibility (affordability) of the fishermen community to education in Sinaboi Village ?, and 3. How also hope and purpose of fisherman society in sending their children her son ?. a quantitative descriptive study approach with a sample of 48 fishermen. The results of the study found that there are still a large number of school-age children who have not been accommodated in school and the high rate of drop out. People's motivation to send their children to school has actually started to grow, but due to economic factors, social facilities and less conducive school spacing; causing them to tend to be low to participate fully in education. Most of the establishment of educational institutions initiated by the government are still oriented in urban areas, so access to the community is difficult and low. Meanwhile, there are still educational institutions that do not meet the minimum standards both in terms of facilities and infrastructure and the quality and professionalism of teachers. In addition, because the socio-economic of the fisherman community that most of the poor has caused the nutritional quality of children less support the activities of students in learning. As a result their achievements so tend to be low. The economic factors and distances of the average school far have caused them to recede to continue the school to the next level. Meanwhile, to use motorcycles, they can not afford because of high operational costs. For those who are able (especially from ethnic Chinese) many send their children to Bagan, Medan and other cities. The wishes and wishes of the community (the fishermen's parents) in sending their children to school are to change their destiny and not to experience the poverty experienced by their parents.
