An important indicator in a development one of which is how much the level of community participation, participation has the meaning of involvement. Empowerment is closely related to democracy or the freedom of individuals or society which begins with an awareness of their needs and potential. Empowerment in principle avoids the element of coercion or undemocracy.The purpose of the participatory approach is the existence of social change,where people are able to determine the best for themselves. This study aims to identify the participation and inhibiting factors of the community towards the Sakinah Family Development Village empowerment program the village of Buantan Lestari.
The theory used in this study is a theory about community participation.This type of research is descriptive quantitative research, by using data collection techniques in the form of filling out questionnaires , which are done by obtaining and analyzing data in the form of numbers. This method as a process of solving a problem under study by explaining the state of an object of research based on the facts that exist.To obtain the data needed, the authors conducted observations at the research sites in Buantan Lestari Village and Bungaraya District.
The results of this study indicate that, community participation in the form (thoughts, energy and property) of the Sakinah Family Assisted Village program in in the village of Buantan Lestari showed results tend to be moderate.While the inhibiting factors of community participation in the form (thoughts, energy, property) of the Sakinah Family Village program in Buantan Lestari Village are in the Tend to Low category.
