Model Hidraulika Untuk Simulasi Kejadian Banjir Di Sungai Dumai
This study aims to analyze and to examine the impact of land use change to the Dumai River Basin flood discharge. This research used hydrological analysis from the processing of rainfall data for the period 1980-2017 (38 years). By using Log Pearson type III distribution analysis, which was continued by using the Mononobe formula to get the flood discharge plan value. Furthermore, using data from the aerial photographs of Dumai City and the results of measurements in the field, a map was made and used as a basis for hydraulic analysis in HEC-RAS 4.10, which then produced output in the form of graphs and materials to be analyzed.
From the research results Dumai river watershed is a lowland that has a varies high cliff / river embankment. This has an effect on the ability to withstand high water level plans or tidal floods, and resulting runoff water flows towards the banks of rivers that have lower contours and potentially inundate the land. From the results of the study there were several parts of the Dumai river that have a channel base higher than the previous and after positions, this condition occurs at Sta 0+851 to 1+151 and Sta 4+969 to 5+ 257 and several other segments . This happens due to silting of the channel base and affects the water flow rate. The results of the modeling show that due to flooding the 50 year return periode caused inundation to occur in river basins covering an area of 270.95 hectares with an average height of floods as high as 2 meters above the river embankment. Flood control efforts are needed by 1) repairing, erecting or adding embankment height, 2) improving river flow by normalization, 3) evaluating the performance of flood control buildings, 4) improving the urban drainage system and 5) socializing about river cleanliness.
