Abstract: This aims study to improve and know the high increase in early
numeracy skills in children aged 4-5 years by using cotton media in Agata Paud
Bangko District Rokan Hilir Regency. The sample in this research is children in
Agata Paud Bangko District Rokan Hilir District, amounting to 10 children. Data
collection techniques were conducted using observation, documentation, and
interviews. Data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis techniques. The
result of teacher activity, seen from teacher activity instrument filled by observer
with result of cycle I 58,33% and teacher able to increase early counting ability at
child at end of cycle II 83,33%. The result of the activity of the child, seen from the
instrument of activity of child filled by observer with result of cycle I 44,87% and
by using cotton media the ability of counting of the beginning of child can increase
at the end of cycle II 73,51%. From the data of the research, it can be found that
the average value of early numeracy ability in children aged 4-5 years in Agata
Paud before action 39.17%, action cycle I 50.11%, action cycle II 69,72%. This
indicates an increase in the ability to count the beginnings of children aged 4-5
years in Agata Paud.
