Pengaruh Kepemimpinan Dan Motivasi Berprestasi Terhadap Kinerja Guru IPS SMP Swasta Pekanbaru Riau

This research is motivated by the fact that there are still teachers,
especially social studies subjects who compile the syllabus, RPP by copy
and paste, not based on the creativity and needs of the teacher in the
place where they teach. Some teachers also collect their learning tools at
the end of the semester and some even at the end of the school year. In
addition, in almost every school a number of teachers did not prepare
teaching tools in full, for example annual programs, semester programs,
syllabus, RPP, and KKM analysis. This showed that the teacher's
performance can be onsidered low.
This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of leadership
and achievement motivation on the performance of social studies teachers
of Pekanbaru Private Junior High Schools. The population in the study
were all Social Sciences teachers of Pekanbaru Private Junior High
Schools. The total population is 129 teachers. Samples were obtained
using proportional random sampling technique so that a sample of 32
people was obtained. Type of descriptive quantitative research. The data
where obtained using the questionnaire method. The collected data where
then analyzed using descriptive analysis and path analysis.
The results of study finded that: 1) the school principal's leadership
influenced the achievement motivation of social studies teachers of
Pekanbaru Private Junior High Schools. The meaning of good leadership
will be able to increase the motivation of the achievement of Pekanbaru
private junior high school social studies teachers, 2) principal's leadership
has direct and indirect influence on teacher performance through the
achievement motivation of Social Sciences Pekanbaru Private Junior High
School teachers. The meaning of the principal's leadership can improve
teacher performance by increasing the achievement motivation of Social
Sciences Pekanbaru Private Junior High School teachers, and 3)
achievement motivation has an effect on the performance of Pekanbaru
Social Sciences Social Sciences teachers in Pekanbaru. The meaning of
good achievement motivation will be able to improve the performance of
Pekanbaru private high school social studies teachers.
