Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII-B SMP PGRI Pekanbaru Semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020
This research is classroom action research that aims to improve the learning process and increase mathematics learning outcomes by implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The subjects of this research are students of class VIII-B SMP PGRI Pekanbaru of academic years 2019/2020, which consists of 16 male students and 14 female students. The research instrument consisted of mathematics learning devices and data collection instruments. The mathematics learning devices used syllabus, lesson plan and student activity sheet. The data collection instruments used observation sheets and mathematics learning outcome tests. The data of the observation sheets and the data of mathematics learning outcome tests were analyzed by descriptive-statistical analysis technique. The result of the research showed that the learning process has improved from cycle 1 to cycle 2, seen from the achievement of mathematics learning outcomes of students in aspect of knowledge and skill. The data of the students’ outcome tests showed that the percentage of students who reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria increased from 10 students (33,33%) to16 students (53,33%) during cycle 1 and 20 students (66,67%) in cycle 2. The conclusion of this research is implementation of Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and can increase students’ mathematics learning outcomes of students in VIII-B SMP PGRI Pekanbaru of academic years 2019/2020 for the subject matter Phytagoras theorem.
