Dampak Diplomasi Amerika Serikat Terhadap Indonesia Melalui Lembaga Peace Corps Tahun 2010-2014

This research study of diplomacy and strategy analyses about the Peace Corps and the bilateral cooperation of Indonesia and United States. The purpose of this research to explain about the Peace Corps and the impact to the bilateral cooperation of Indonesia and United States after the exit of Peace Corps. This research focused on the impact of United States diplomacy that wants the Peace Corps to operate in Indonesia.
Peace Corps is an independent-governmental organization from the United States that dispatching well-trained volunteers to third world countries that desperately in need, including Indonesia. The Peace Corps itself entered Indonesia in 1963. Due to political circumstances, they have to leave Indonesia in 1965. Between 1965-2010 the Peace Corps never came back to Indonesia. In this period, bilateral cooperation of Indonesia and United States experiencing fluctuate. Globalization and science’s development caused the development of international relation, including how a country interact with other countries. Because of strong commitment from both Indonesia and United States in order to maintain and enhance their cooperation, the Indonesia-United States comprehensive partnership is signed.
This research used qualitative methods which is done by explanning the case based on facts. The collecting data techniques used in this research in studying the case is library research in the form of journals, books, official documents report, and website. Writer also have done some coordination with the governmental representative via e-mail. The theory that apllied in this research is international cooperation theory under the neo-realism perspective in nation-state analysis. Within foreign policy concept, which is, in order to fulfilled the national interests, countries tend to do a cooperation with other countries.
