One of the internal factors of higher education that greatly affects the performance of higher education is the performance of lecturers. Like other universities in Indonesia, the State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau (UIN Suska Riau) also has goals it wants to achieve, including producing graduates with noble character and becoming members of society who have the ability and academic and / or professional excellence. This study aims to analysed the influence of leadership, organizational commitment to motivation. The influence of leadership and organizational commitment on performance. To analyse the influence of leadership and organizational commitment on lecturer performance through motivation. The population in this study were the lecturers of the State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. To facilitate research, the sample calculation was rounded to 242 lecturers.
The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data, while the data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in this study is path analysis. The results of research on leadership and commitment have a positive and significant effect on motivation. Leadership and commitment have a positive and significant effect on lecturer performance. Motivation has a positive and significant effect on lecturer performance, the higher the level of motivation, the lecturer performance will increase. Leadership has a positive and significant effect on lecturer performance through motivation, meaning that good leadership is followed by motivation, then the lecturer's performance will increase. Commitment has a positive and significant effect on lecturer performance through motivation. This shows that good commitment followed by good motivation will also improve lecturer performance.
