This research was conducted in Rumbai Pesisir District, Pekanbaru City, Riau
Province. The purpose of this study was to determine how the poverty depth index (P1)
and poverty severity index (P2) are. This research is expected to be useful as information
material for readers and reference material for parties with an interest in poverty
alleviation.
The type of data used in this study is primary data. And by using the case study
method. The variables in this study are the poverty depth index (P1) and the poverty
severity index (P2). From the results of the research that has been done, it is found that 1)
The depth of poverty in the Rumbai Pesisir sub-district is currently quite low, but the exit
of Sungai Ambang is a sub-district that is quite high in depth compared to other villages,
in this case the inhabitants of Sungai Ambang are very need things that can make the
population get enough income to get them out of the cycle of poverty that occurs, The
severity of poverty that is currently occurring in Rumbai Pesisir District is quite evenly
distributed which is not so severe. 2) As for the comparison of the depth of poverty that
occurs in the Rumbai Pesisir District in each Kelurahan, the depth of poverty experiences
a fairly even ratio so that each village is not so unequal in the poverty problem that
occurs in that area but there is one kelurahan that is quite far the level of the depth is
quite unequal If viewed from the existing data, chapter 5, From the comparison of the
severity that occurs in each Kelurahan in Rumbai District, things are not so unequal from
each Kelurahan.
