Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Kiambang (Salvinia Molesta D.Mitch.) Sebagai Bioherbisida Dalam Pengendalian Gulma Teki (Cyperus Rotundus L.)
Weed control using excessive synthetic herbicides can cause environmental pollution. Therefore, the use of bioherbicides is recommended. Extract of kiambang (Salvinia molesta D. Mitch.) Is a material to be used as a bioherbicide. The aim of this research was to test the effectiveness of the extract as a bioherbicide and to obtain the best concentration in the control of pre-growth and post-growth of nut weed (Cyperus rotundus L.).
The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden Seed House of Riau University Jalan Bina Widya km 12.5 Simpang Baru Village of Tampan Sub-District and in the Laboratory of Natural materials and Minerals Faculty of Engineering, Riau University. The time of research and data retrieval is conducted for four months from January to April 2020. The research was conducted in two stages, the first stage of the pregrowth test and the second stage of the postgrowth test. The trial design used is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) one factor. Treatment for pregrown test using 5 kiambang extract concentration treatment, namely: 0%, 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% repeated 4 times. Treatment for postgrowth test using 3 treatment concentration of kiambang extract, namely: 0%, 60% and 80% repeated 4 times. The observed parameters are the growing power of tuber shoots and the growing time of tuber shoots for pregrown tests, while for the post-growth test were weed height, leaf chlorophyll content, photosynthesis rate, transpiration rate, stomata conductivity, phytotoxicity, percentage of weed mortality, bioherbicide efficacy and weed regrowth. Analysis of total levels of secondary metabolites using gravimetric, colorimetric and paramanganometric methods. Data analysis used analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the 5% level, then further tested using Duncan's Multi Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level with SPSS 23.
The results showed that the kiambang extract was considered effective as a pre-growth and post-growth bioherbicide to control nut weeds. The best concentration of kiambang extract in inhibiting shoot germination of weed tubers is treatment with a concentration of 80%. The best concentration of kiambang extract to inhibit the growth of nut weed is treatment with a concentration of 80%
