Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (Pbl) Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Peserta Didik Kelas Vii.1 Smp Negeri 3 Pekanbaru
Abstract
This research was a class action research which aimed to improve learning process and increased the
mathematics learning outcomes by implying Problem Based Learning model. Subjects of this research were
the students of grade VII.1 SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2019/2020 total number of
participant are 40, consisting of 21 boys and 19 girls with heterogeneous academic achievement. This
research have two cycles, each have four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.
Each cycles ended by daily examination. The instruments of data collection in this research were
observation sheets and student’s mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative
descriptive, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. Based on
qualitative descriptive analysis results show an improvement of learning process before to after the action
(first and second cycle). The data obtained from the student mathematics learning outcomes quizzes shows
that the competence of knowledge and skills there was an increase, namely the number of students who
were at the highest and high score intervals increased, while the number of students who were at the low
and quiet decreasing score intervals. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the
implementation of problem based learning model can be improve the learning process and increase
mathematics learning outcomes of students in class VII.1 SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru in the even semester of
the academic year 2019/2020.
