Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Matematika Berbasis Komputer Dengan Pendekatan Saintifik Untuk Memfasilitasi Kegiatan Pembelajaran Peserta Didik Kelas VIII SMP Pada Materi Pokok Lingkaran
This research is based on the limited media of computer-based mathematics learning with a scientific approach that corresponds to the demands of the 2013 curriculum and has not maximized the learning outcomes of students in geometry. The low use of computers and technology in learning is due to the teacher's lack of understanding of computer use, limited preparation time, and difficulties in finding the appropriate and relevant media.
This research aims to produce valid and practical learning media to facilitate the learning activities of 8th graders in the subject matter about circle. The learning media developed is a visual medium that aims to make it easier for students to understand about circle during learning and to review lessons at home.
The type of this reaseach is research and development. The development model used is the Plomp model (2013) consisting of three phases. First, in the preliminary investigastion, researchers conducted interviews with mathematics teachers about the provision of computer-based media with a scientific approach. Second, in the prototyping phase, the researchers created the structure of the program, prepared teaching materials, constructed instruments of validity and practicality, and made construction realizations. The structure of the program contains title page design, instructions for use, learning objectives, material content, exercises and tests. Teaching materials are set for four meetings. All design results on the program structure were realized in microsoft power point 2017. After the media were established according to the design; then the media were validated by two lecturers as material and media experts as well as one teacher as a material expert. Third, in the assessment phase, the researchers conducted a product trial. The trial was conducted up to a small-scale trial stage through Zoom Meeting on six students.
The development of this media is intended to facilitate the learning activities of students in preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities. Media can be used for the learning subject matter about Circles within four meetings in materials: (1) an explanation about the elements of the circle, the central angle and circumference of the circle; (2) the relationship between the center angle and the circumference of the circle; (3) the relationship of the arc length, the area of the segment to the circumference and the area of the circle; and (4) contextual issues related to the circles.
