Analisis Wacana Kritis Program Acara Kick Andy Episode Pengakuan John Kei Dari Balik Nusakambangan

Television is a strategic mass media that can be used to disseminate discourse by various social and political groups that are displayed in it through news and broadcast programs. In 2019 the Talkshow program that had a high rating according to the KPI survey was the Kick Andy program broadcast by Metro TV. The speakers at the Kick Andy program are figures who have a positive track record and have a story that can inspire the audience. It became interesting when Kick Andy invited a murder convict named John Refra alias John Kei as a resource on the episode Confession of John Kei. from Behind Nusakambangan. Statistical data shows that the episode attracted more viewers than the previous episode. In the study of discourse analysis, Teun Van Dijk's model of discourse analysis is a model that views language as related to power, ideology and politics. The purpose of this study is to determine critical discourse analysis of the Kick Andy program episode John Kei's Confession from Behind Nusakambangan.
This research is a discourse analysis research using a qualitative descriptive method using the Teun Van Dijk model of critical discourse analysis approach at the lefavel of text structure, social cognition and social context. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation on the episode of John Kei's Confession from Behind Nusakambangan
The results of the research on the text element show that the big themes raised in this episode are inspirational stories and things that are rarely known to the general public about the figure of John Kei who has been known only as a street criminal. In this study, social cognition results are obtained. that in this episode the producer of the Kick Andy program wants to convey a message to the public not to stigmatize and discriminate former convicts. Whereas in research on the social context, information was obtained that this episode was produced after the circulation of a video on the Youtube video channel of the Directorate General of Corrections which contained a message calling for John Kei from inside prison to his men and friends to change and repent.
