Abstract. This study aims to describe the ability to recognize geometric shapes in children
aged 5-6 years at Cahaya Intan Kindergarten, Pujud Rokan Hilir District. The research
method used is quantitative descriptive approach (percentage). The sample used was 20
children. The research was conducted at the Cahaya Intan Kindergarten, Pujud Rokan Hilir
District. The data collection technique used in this study was to use the observation sheet
to recognize geometric shapes. The data analysis technique used the percentage
formula (Sugiono, 2010). From the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the
description of the ability to recognize geometric shapes in children aged 5-6 years in Cahaya
Intan Kindergarten, Pujud Rokan Hilir District, is in the "BB" criteria with a percentage of
27.60%.
