Kelayakan Teknis Perencanaan Angkutan Sekolah Di Kota Pekanbaru

Purpose of this study was to determine rate of potential demand of school transportation to be operated in the education area in Pekanbaru City and define service routs, types and quantities of transportation. The scope of this study is several junior and senior high school located in Lima Puluh District e.g. SMP 5, SMP 1, SMP 14, SMA Handayani, SMP 4, SMP 10, SMP 9 and SMK 1. This study using four-step model i.e. generation and attraction, trip distribution, mode choices and assignment. The initial step to get generation and attraction were using primary data (interviews) and secondary data. Based on data processed to obtain trip distribution and mode choices, school transportation was the result of mode choices. PTv Visum 21 device used to obtained assignment. OD of student which moving to school transportation (potential demand) inputted to PTV Visum 21 device to get assignment.
Based on study, potential demand is 61% and obtained 6 (six) of planning service route school transportation in Pekanbaru City with each route using a medium bus
