Gambaran Tingkat Stres Dan Mekanisme Koping Remaja Di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak Kelas Ii Pekanbaru
Adolescents tend to commit deviant acts such as juvenile
delinquency so that adolescents have to deal with the law. Adolescents who are in
the Special Development Institution for Children (LPKA) experience life changes
and make adolescents experience stress. Stress can be relieved by an effective
coping mechanism from youth in LPKA. This study aims to describe the level of
stress and coping mechanisms of adolescents in the Special Guidance Institute for
Class II Children in Pekanbaru. Methods: This study used a simple descriptive
design. The number of respondents was 45 juvenile prisoners using accidental
sampling technique. The analysis used is univariate analysis. Results: The results
showed that the majority of the characteristics of the respondents were middle age
adolescents were 24 respondents (53.3%), and cases of adolenscent in LPKA
namely theft were 15 respondents (33.3%). The stress level of respondents who
had the highest presentation was moderate stress were 17 respondents (37.8%)
and the coping mechanism of respondents who had the largest presentation was
the coping mechanism that focused on emotions were 23 respondents (55.6%).
Conclusion: Overall juvenile prisoners have moderate stress levels and
emotionally focused coping mechanisms.
