Sifat Fisik Dan Mekanik Mortar Dengan Penambahan Bakteri Bacillus Subtilis Pada Lingkungan Sulfat
ABSTRACT
An aggressive environment could have a detrimental impact on the mortar,
because it contains many chemical substances that are reactive to the elements
found in the mortar. For example, in groundwater which contains a lot of sulfate
salts and one of them is reactive the example is magnesium sulfate. The science
and technology have been developing until now, the research on self-healing
concrete is always developing and this development should result in some
innovations that can repair cracks by itself. Bacillus subtilis bacteria is an option
that can be able to restore and cover the cracks and apply powerful pressure
mortar in the sulfate environment. The physical testing and mechanical properties
of mortar aged 28 days and 56 days, the results obtained are the lowest value of
sulfate immersed bacteria mortar. In the sorptivity test, the value obtained are
0.1606 mm / min0.5 and 0.221 mm / min0.5. In the unit weight test the results are
2.002 gr / cm3 and 2.077 gr / cm3. In the porosity test the value are 14.96% and
15.22%. And in the compressive strength test obtained values are 17.13 Mpa and
16.98 Mpa. Based on the data, it can be concluded that Baccilus subtillis bacteria
can’t work well in a sulfate environment.
