Inventarisasi Jenis-Jenis Bambu (Bambusoideae) Di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Provinsi Riau Dan Pemanfaatannya

ABSTRACT
Sumatra Island has the highest diversity of bamboo species in Indonesia (80 of 161
species in Indonesia.). However, there is no information or data on the inventory of
bamboo diversity and its utilization in Riau, especially in Kuantan Singingi Regency
of Riau Province. This research aims to know diversity by inventorying and
identifying species of bamboo and knowing various forms of bamboo utilization. The
research was conducted by exploratory methods and open interviews. The data of
bamboo inventory and utilization is described and made identification key. Based on
the results of inventory in Kuantan Singingi district obtained 19 species of bamboo
consisting of 4 original genus (Bambusa, Gigantochloa, Schizostachyum,
Dendrocalamus)and 1 genus introduction (Thyrsostachys) with 1 variety (striata)
namely: B. vulgaris, G. atter, G. pruriens, B. vulgaris var. striata, B. multiplex, B.
glaucophylla, G. achmadii, S. undulatum, S. silicatum, Gigantochloa sp1, G. kuring,
T. siamensis, Gigantochloa sp2, G. hasskarliana, B. blumeana, G. scortechinii,
Gigantochloa sp3, D. asper, and S. zollingeri. The types of bamboo that are most
often used by the community are bamboo types B. vulgaris and B. vulgaris var.
striata or commonly called local people bambu aur, bambu poriang, and aur kuning.
