Studi Etnobotani Famili Zingiberaceae Dalam Kehidupan Masyarakat Lokal Di Pulau Rupat Kabupaten Bengkalis, Riau
ABSTRACT
Ethnobotany is a science about the interaction between humans and the use of
plants traditionally. The purpose of the research is to document the utilization of
Zingiberaceae plants by local people in Rupat Island, Bengkalis Regency
including botanical studies, ethnomedicine and ethnoantropology. The research
was conducted from November 2020 - January 2021. The data was collected by
interviewing 15 Practitioners of Traditional Medicine (POT) who had information
on the utilization of the plant Zingiberaceae. Based on the results of the interview
obtained as many as 16 species of plants Zingiberaceae used as the basic
ingredients of folk remedies. In addition, some species of Zingiberaceae plants are
also used by the local community as a medium in a ritual. The highest Value of
Informant Consensus Factor (Fic) is found in the reproductive system disease
category. Fidelity levels analysis shows that Curcuma domestica is the most
widely used plant by Traditional Medicine Practitioners in overcoming diseases.
