Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Dan Identifikasi Percaya Diri Pada Materi Ikatan Kimia Di SMA Negeri 13 Pekanbaru
The research that has been done is the Application of Problem Based
Learning Model to Improve Concept Understanding and Confidence in Chemical
Bonds Learning Materials in class X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 13 Pekanbaru. This
research is motivated by the condition of the learning model in the field which is
only centered on the teacher (teacher center) so that students do not play an
active role in the learning process at school. The learning model that is in
accordance with the 2013 Curriculum is learning centered on students (student
center). Learning models that require the active role of students are expected to
increase the ability to understand concepts and be confident in students. So that
the purpose of doing the research is to see the extent to which the understanding
of concepts and self-confidence increases by applying the PBL learning model to
chemical bonding learning materials in high school
This type of research is a pre-experimental design and was developed
using one group pretest-postest steps. The research steps were 1) the group was
given a pretest at the beginning before treatment 2) was given treatment (PBL
learning model) 3) the group was given a posttest after being given treatment.
This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 13 Pekanbaru. The time of the
research was applied in October - November 2020. The data collection techniques
in the study were students' self-confidence questionnaires and the conceptual
understanding ability test. The data analysis technique used in this research is
quantitative descriptive analysis, namely by calculating the percentage value of
students' understanding of concepts. Qualitative descriptive analysis to see the
level of self-confidence of students. The results of data analysis showed that there
was an increase in understanding of the concept of chemical bonds from 37.28
(pretest) to 81.39 (posttest), which was an increase of 44.11. Likewise, the
students' identification self-confidence obtained 81.94 in the very good category.
The results of the application of the PBL model on the chemical bonding
material that have been applied can increase the ability of students to understand
concepts as evidenced by the paired sample t-test with a significance value of
0.000
