Pengaruh Perubahan Tata Guna Lahan Terhadap Kondisi Neraca Air Pada Kesatuan Hidrologis Gambut Pulau Tebing Tinggi
Changes in land use can provide benefits, but can also be bad for the
environment, such as combustion and logging of vegetation / forests on peatlands,
this causes water on peatlands to decrease overly causing peatlands to dry and
flammable.
This study aims to determine the condition of the balance of water based
on land use data in 2010 and 2019 and the influence of land use changes to the
condition of the water balance in KHG Tebing Tinggi Island. KHG Tebing Tinggi
Island has 5 (five) different and separate hydrological unit parts based on the
level of depth. In this research study the analysis of the condition of the water
balance was carried out using the ThornThwaite-Mather Water Balance (TMWB)
model. This TMWB model is widely used to analyze the water balance because it
is easy to use and its parameters are available. Besides that the TMWB model can
use land use parameters and land texture as input data analysis to see the effect of
land use change.
Based on the land use map for the period of 2010 to 2019, changes in the
area of secondary swamp forest cover and plantations occur Because of the
increasing extent of mixed dry land agriculture and plantations. In 2010 the wide
range of dry land agriculture on Tebing Tinggi Island was 1,601.88 ha, in 2015
the use of an increase of 26.111.41 ha so that the area of use for mixed dry land
agriculture to 27,713.29 ha. And in 2019 the extensive use of mixed dry land
agriculture increased by 8,894.69 ha, so during the period 2010 to 2019 there
was a wide use of mixed land agriculture of 36,607.98 ha. While the use of
plantations in 2010 has an area of 16,905.77 ha, 2015 the widespread use of
plantations increased by 1.976.16 Ha to 18.881.93 ha, while the 2019 wide use of
plantations also increased by 4,209.01 Ha, so during the period 2010 to 2019 the
plantation is widely used 21.174.78 ha Compared to the value of Direct Runoff in
2010.
The results of the simulation analysis carried out were very logical to see
the condition of land use in 2015 and 2019 which had changed in the condition of
the forest into agricultural land, plantations to allow many emergence of canals
that could affect the flow of water comes from rain water flowing towards the
canal.The canal causes peatlands to dry which is easy to burn.
