Perbandingan Ct-Value Berdasarkan Kelompok Usia Dan Jenis Kelamin Pada Sampel Terkonfirmasi Covid-19 Di Laboratorium Biomolekuler Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Cycle threshold value (Ct value) is the number of cycles required until the
fluorescent signal crosses the threshold. Technology based on real time reverse
transcription polymerase chain reaction (rtRT-PCR) can detect the SARS-CoV-2
gene by assessing the Ct value. This study aimed to compare the Ct value based on
age and gender groups in samples confirmed to have COVID-19 in Biomolecular
Laboratory Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. The design of this research
was comparative descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling
technique used was the total sampling method testing period January-March 2021
with a total sample of 3,036 samples. The research data consisted of rtRT-PCR
results, age, and sex of COVID-19 patients which were analyzed by descriptive
(univariate) and bivariate tests using the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test.
The results showed that the most COVID-19 patients were in the 31-45 years age
group (28%) and the sex of the most COVID-19 patients was female (55,2%). The
Ct value of Helicase and RdRP in the 0-18 years age group was significantly higher
than the other age groups (p
